Just called my landline number from my mobile expecting to enter my pin to pick up my messages but suddenly that facility seems to have disappeared so now I need to call voicemail from my home phone and set it up again.
Problem is that I don't use a SmartHub 2 but my own router and not sure I have any working handsets to use even if I put my SH2 back in operation.
So what's happened & why?

@Timbo45 If you are still on the system where the phone is not on DV then the router connection is completely irrelevant for operation, but you will need a phone connected landline wise to setup again if needed or better still check the voicemail operates on the landline, as to why the fault developed or if it is a mobile call in to landline issue who knows. If you do find a fault then EE CS to report and have them check.
If you are on DV then no choice but to put the router back on to get the landline system checked.

If OP is on DV but not using the SH2 (or is it SH+?) he wouldn't have a landline at all.

@XRaySpeX Got it, take away router then the line dies, would be an interesting test for that if it was all setup beforehand?

I switched to DV when I went to full fibre back in March and for a while I used DV with the SH2 and using my own router for everything in the house.
I then dropped using the SH2 and set up voicemail with pin code access and my own greeting. This has worked fine for 4 months or so and was fine in that I called my landline number from my mobile & picked up any messages until a few days ago when my settings were wiped out/reset.
I know what I need to do to re-establish my preferred solution , I'm just concerned as to what happened to reset the voicemail.

@Timbo45 That is what i was trying to get at, maybe it's the mobile calling in that is messed up, but unless you call from another line to check even another landline, or do it from your home again, which means putting the router back on then who knows. Know what you were doing, and if it has failed then it is something EE server wise possibly, just not sure until you alone check... You could always have EE test so text PHONE to 66033 and see what it comes back with.

How is it possible for you to have & use DV w/out using the SH2? Where are you plugging the landline phone in?

I'm not actually using DV as such, just the voicemail function as we use our mobiles exclusively.
I've retained our phone number & pay the £3pm for PAYG as we've had the number for 50 years and there might still be a few people who don't know that we use only our mobiles so then if they call they can leave a voicemail & we'll get back to them.
Next time I renew my contract I'll be dropping the "landline" as so far we've had only 1 call in 4+ months from people who know us, all the others have been an Insurance claim line that is 1 digit different to ours.

OIC! You must have set up the PIN from the DV phone before you removed the SH2.
