Re: Digital Voice issues

This seems to be where I need to start but it's fairly obvious to all that EE have no interest in pushing the message that things arent perfect through to the sales team. I have got booted out of BT broadband and analog on a misleading statement about DV being mandatory at Christmas. I was NOT told that calls coming in can only be answered on one phone or that phones would no longer be any good with key tones on automated menus or that we'd have to have to spend money on electicity powering up a whole host of devices to bounce wifi around our old house with thick walls so that phones could work upstairs et etc. And now the landline starts playing up in a variety of ways. And by the way despite living 10 miles from Bath the mobile signal on EE is so poor that their complaints/help people keep saying "I'm sorry you're breaking up". Honestly, progress? No. A thing that particularly irks me is that when you're on hold for help you're forced to listen to gangsta rap as if you're a 17 year old gamer **bleep**ed off about broadband speed. I was paying twice as much for BT and I'd go back to that in a heart beat. That's the rant: my questions are: why don't my phones work when asked to push numeric buttons on automated systems anymore? Are there any EE approved phones that don't look like cheap mobiles from the 1990's (ie somethng semi retro)? Is there a way to pick up incoming calls on another phone internally without having to ask the caller to redial? Why don't all my old phones ring at once or at all, in some cases? Why is there sometimes no dial tone on the phones? Why is there a need to reboot your system every week? Having been paying BT since 1987 all this comes as a really nasty surprise and I've not started with the problems getting to see my bills on the app. Because I had a 1999 Orange phone its taken 2 months or so to fight my way through to seeing my new account bills having been given the advice to 'get another email address' as a work around...

You'd be better off starting your own thread rather than latching on to another user's thread as a "me too".

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

Good afternoon @HoltWilts.

Welcome to the EE Community.

I've gone ahead and split this out into its own thread, as that way we can be sure that you get replies that are most relevant to you.

When it comes to phones, digital voice should work with any DECT based phone in the same way that it did via the analogue network.

You just need to plug this to the Green port on the back of the Hub rather than the traditional socket on the wall.

Which model of phone is it you're using here, and do you here a tone when you press buttons for menu systems?

Peter

Peter How do I plug a phone into the back of the hub if its on another floor?Best Pat

Thanks @HoltWilts.

What kind of phone is it you're using?

If it's a phone with a base station and you want to put this in another room, we offer Digital Voice adaptors

These plug into a wall socket and have their own phone port, and will pair with your Hub to carry your service.

@HoltWilts Do you have your internal wiring for the phones intact at present, and have not ripped it all out?

Hi thereThank you for helping
Yes. All the old wires are still in place. P

@HoltWilts Are you connected to a Master Socket on a RJ11 connection, or do you have the new FF FTTP service to a new or existing ONT. There is the ability to cable the EE router out to a Master Socket, and from that the Extension sockets all become live again, but need to know what you have! If not sure take picture and post up.

Wow. All I can say is that none of the phone wiring has changed since 1991. I doubt its anything new.
