Connecting land line to modem

I have 2 cables going into box on wall. Have plugged one into telephone socket on hub, any idea what I do with the other cable?

@Biker1007 If you post a picture up would be easier if it is a master style socket for telecoms, but normal, left side of socket is RJ11 connection for connection off the line to router DSL connection for copper based to the home, right is for telephone connection but depends on whether that is active for PTSN style delivery and if newer DV delivered, then that connection is dead no longer needed of functions, and the Telephone plugs into the rear of the router or to another digital device...
Are you trying to connect up a router? If you have a ONT, 4 led's on it, then cable marked LAN goes to the WAN on the router, nothing else needed connection wise on that device.
