My mother has a old BT style Decor 110 phone plugged into an EE Digital Voice adapter. The phone sometimes loses a ring tone and is unable to make calls needing the EE DVA or EE router to be power cycled to get it working again.
Would buying a new phone like the BT Big Button 200 solve the reliability problem ?

@mark3099 : I should think unlikely; probably an ATA (what you're calling a DVA) issue.
Try the Decor 110 plugged into back of router. Is it still unreliable?

We have BT Duet 210 corded phone plugged into the EE router upstairs. It hasn't had any real issues unlike the Decor 110 plugged into an EE Home phone adapter (not sure exactly what the technically correct name is) downstairs.

The Decor 110 phone downstairs is connected to the EE adapter with a phone cable extension cord, could this be causing the problem?

There are quite a few reports that the ATA adapters are not as reliable as the Green Phone socket on the back of the router. I think that is what you are experiencing. The phone extension cable should not be an issue. Modern phones have almost 0 REN power consumption.
