Hi
Recently migrated from another isp for my fttp 500mb with digital Voice.
Fttp is working great, but having issues with maintaining digital Voice.
After a couple of weeks faffing, I got it sorted (registering phone etc) at it was ok, but this week callers can't hear me, nor can I hear them.... The phone rings and there is a dial tone.....
Any ideas guys?
Thanks

@PaulStafford70 @JimM11 I can confirm that the problem does occur solely with DV handsets ie no other unit plugged in to the hub.
However, I've just gone 60 days without the problem occurring, I went away for a week and when I came back the hub/system had restarted while I was away. That's the longest time by far that I've gone without a problem and as far as I can see the firmware hasn't changed.

@Andy_65 Thanks for posting back and letting us know.👍

@PaulStafford70
We had 2x DV Phones wirelessly connected, plus a further 2x 'old analogue' (DECT) cordless phone systems (2x three cordless phone bases = 6 DECT phones) plugged into the phone port on the rear of the Smart Hub.
= what I refer to as a 'mixed configuration'.
Our Digital Landline went down completely on 24th October (Sir, Sir, It was an EE Guide, Sir!)
EE's TMC ('Technical Management Centre') then had to get on the case.
On 31st October, they had to re-install the 'Digital Voice Provision' software, which required a full Smart Hub 'Factory Reset' and some other 'remote' chicanery...
At the end-of-the-day, the EE TMC strongly recommended disconnecting the old 'DECT' analogue phones COMPLETELY - and we were sent a further 3x DV phones (FOC!) to add to our existing 2x DV phones.
FYI: If you dial-out on an old DECT phone in a 'mixed configuration' (DV and DECT), that outgoing call shows-up as a 'dialled call' on the DECT phone - but ONLY as a telephone number.
Even if it's a saved 'Contact' (i.e. with a 'name') in either the DV or DECT phone database(s), ONLY the telephone number will display on the DECT phones: NO name is displayed.
And the DV phones don't display even that 'dialled number' at all - in our experience...
In addition: you can't 'join an existing telephone conversation' (either incoming or outgoing) with EITHER a DECT or a DV phone, when you have a 'mixed configuration' - we know! We tried it.... = NFG...!
Bottom Line: Go 'Full DV' if you can.
It's worked so far for us (14+ days), - and for circa 60 days for @Andy_65

@Gelert5 Very candid indeed. And loved the reference!

I've only ever had DV handsets connected and have still had issues @Gelert5 so in my opinion it isn't just plugged in dect handsets causing the problem. It's possible it may make it worse but it seems very odd to me that EEs TMC are advising not to plug any units into the hub when that is in fact their main selling point of their DV system - you can use your existing phones.

@Andy_65 Are you still on the partial fttc with your DV, or now on FF to the home?

@JimM11 I'm still on FTTC.

So, I'm a migration from BT to EE. FTTP with DV (only DV no 'old' phones)
Had all sort of issues...most of which down to the fact I use AdGuard Home. (EE Extenders aren't very happy when they aren't pointing at EE DNS)
I too have the dreaded DV silence problem...i.e. Phones will Ring but no sound in either direction when answered.
Have spoken to EE a number of times and been sent replacement router, had a factory reset (and some sort of magic DV re-provision)...none of which have worked. Also been told to disconnect all cabled connections to my router...er no thanks...
So I think I'm going to call them again tomorrow when hopefully I'll have a bit more time and see if I can insist on a free-of-charge upgrade to the pro router to see if it really is the panacea

Hi Phil,
I'm assuming that you are currently using an EE Smart Hub.
If so, and out of interest, is it an SH31B or an SH32B...?
The only difference is that an SH32B is the very latest model which doesn't have a 'Broadband' RJ11(?) socket next to the Green ATA (phone) socket.
TIA,
Louis.

Hi Louis,
Mine doesn't have the grey port marked broadband...but in the hub UI it claims to be an SH31B
