I received a text from ee saying
"As a thank you for being with ee you can upgrade to any phone on any plan with no early upgrade fees"
However when i try to do this its adding a large upfront cost. Is the upfront cost different? thanks

A upfront cost is part of the cost of the phone. The higher the upfront cost the lower is your monthly fee over the length of the contract. It is not a charge for upgrading.
