I currently use my EE sim on a subscription pack: £10 for 8 GB.
and I'm thinking of connecting a smart watch (from another retailer) to my phone. EE says I should have a contract to have an esim of the same number as my phone's on the smart watch. i.e. all esims are available only for in-contract customers.
the prices for a 12-month contract start from £18 a month for 5 GB.
Does anyone know why I should pay extra when I'm to make a contract with EE while a contract-free option is much cheaper?

Hi there, do you know why the monthly contracts charge us much more than a subscription pack? i'm thinking of connecting my smart watch (from another retailer) to my EE network. but the higher cost of a contract puts me off.

Hi @amir13,
Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂
The SIM plan you've looked at has unlimited calls, rather than 500 minutes like the pay as you go pack you're currently using.
Did you know you're eligible for a discount as a pay as you go customer? Please see Pay As You Go to Pay Monthly | Switch to a monthly plan for details.
