I understand EE’s position that full VAT invoices are only issued to business accounts. However, under HMRC VAT Notice 700, Section 16.6, while a VAT invoice is only mandatory for VAT-registered customers, any customer is entitled to know:
EE’s VAT registration number
Whether VAT is included in the charges
The net amount and VAT amount charged
For expense claim purposes, please confirm:
EE’s VAT registration number.
The VAT amount included for my recent phone purchase, shown separately from the total.
This is not a request for a full VAT invoice, but a request for the legally required VAT content disclosure.
