Suing EE

Hi, I want to leave here my experience with this awful company. I've been a customer for 4 years. On the 11th October I decided to be a customer for 2 more years.

I renewed my contract with EE for another 24 months. On the 17th of October I decided that that was a bad call and wanted to cancel the agreement (which is mentioned in the contract, 14 days to cancel any contract with no extra payment) after I instructed EE 4 times, 2 times over the phone and 2 time via emailed I barley get any response or solving, delaying the procces another week. I was getting closer to the 14 days time period and EE we're just passing me from department to department looking surprised every time I repet the story.

They even sent an email saying the cancellation is processed and can take up to 48hrs.

Now, 1 month after this, they generated a bill of £425.00( cancellation fee I presume) after I insisted over a week for the contract to be cancel in the time grace of 14 days.

With the advice of my lawyer I will go forward to sue this awful company, not for the money, but for the misleading information and untrained customer service that put people in situations like this in this hard times which this country and the whole world is going thru.

I find unacceptable that a network provider have this methods to put normal people in debt.

Please do not let this thieves go unpunished.

Hey,

I am facing a similar issue with EE. Can you please advise on what sanctions you were able to sue? I am considering doing the same.
I have an email chain of evidence.

Good morning @NCLDN.

As others have mentioned in this thread, for any complaint around your service we would always recommend following our complaints process as a first port of call.

Our complaints team will always aim to work with you to find a resolution, and when this isn't possible it would then be sent to deadlock for independent review for the Communications Ombudsman.

We would always recommend following this path when possible, and you can find a full overview of this process here:

Yes, basically you complete a form which will end in a spam folder. I resolved the issue with EE by not paying anything and clear the deabt with a solicitor. In the end I earn 2 phones and a debt free.

My advice to all that have the similar issue with these unprofessional **bleep**. Never get a monthly subscription no matter how cheap it may sound. You have plenty of other services that offers no monthly payment and still can have a decent network.

If you are under a contract with them, have no fear, ignor them, don't pay anything, wait 2 years, then clear the debt. For any information I can assist you with the legal procedure regarding this. If some of the customers will stick together maybe, maybe they will feel the downfall in finance and hopefully they will hire competent people or, finger crossed, they will ho bankrupt 😂

All the best, stay safe and EE free!

I think you misunderstand.

I’m not looking to complain or end a contract. I’m looking for compensation.

Thanks,

Well, @NCLDN ,you never made that clear. In fact, you never said much about what you've already done & why. Straight to court, eh? Anyway if you have exhausted talking to CS then winning a complaint will now be the only way you'll get money directly from EE. Courts don't take it lightly when you haven't already availed yourself of existing complaints & arbitration processes in place.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.
