Is there no way to switch to paperless bill online? My letter from EE says I can.

Taken to court?? We are talking about what, a couple of sheets of paper here. Do you really think the Ombudsman would be interested in such a trifling matter? Yes it would be handy to change your billing method online but for the time being it seems you can't. I don't have paper billing because I never asked for it, presumably those who have paper billing must have requested it at some point so no one has been 'forced' to use it.

I never had an opt in or out option when I got my contract, otherwise I would have opted out. And if so many people are being charged for something they do not want then there is a case. Remember PPI??

If you get in touch with our Mobile Care team they will help you remove itemised billing.
Thanks.

Yes, agree with you totally Mark. I think by now, we've all received the letter and the wording is appalling. Most people I have spoken with about this were under the impression that the change can be made on-line.
In the end, I got frustrated and phoned 150. The cust service person told me that when paperless billing is turned on or off, an extra charge ie either added or removed to the monthly bill, and this is why we are required to call. It seems that mobile companies are not obliged to provide free billing in the way banks are (where it is easy to change to paperless).
Anyway, at a time when all companies are going green, I think EE should provide paperless as a default.

It is very badly written. They've made it totally ambiguous, leaving most people who read it to assume they can switch online. What they're actually saying is you can look at your bill online, once you've switched by phone. But phoning will undoubtedly lead to long wait times, followed by someone trying to sell you stuff. This can only be deliberate as the number of complaints on this page is enormous and the only response from EE is to call them up, not to deal with the language on the bill which has caused the confusion.
Wish me luck, I'm about to call them to save my £2:50 !!!!

I just opened up an online chat and the agent has done it for me

So would I also be right in assuming that you can't go paperless but still keep the itemisation?
This has been a hilarious thread (in a bad way). I also got 'top fan status' from our milk delivery provider because I was on their fb page so often complaining about non-delivery.

yes i've received the same letter clearly stating that you can do this online. i have rang ee before and they were supposed to have removed this from my account. but no still receiving bills on paper. Very wasteful in current times i think.
Given up now. Then received a letter today, so logged on and guess what, you still can't remove this online.
