Indeed. It has just happened to me £260 over the last 2 weeks. This is why it is so important NOT to set up a direct debit as it can land so many people into trouble without them even suspecting it.

Hi Sean,
Thanks for your reply. I searched because I thought I can't be the only one getting this weird billing. If you don't mind me asking what did they offer you as compensation for the worry? It is just so I know was it fair and act accordingly. I have to call them tomorrow. Spent 45 min in a dreadful music queue till it went dead... ;(

Hi coyote17
Yes they offered £30 off next bill but haven’t checked it yet. But will follow up when it ready. It is obvious that the bill is wrong when you have unlimited calls and texts and you see you have been charged £79 for 59 min call to UK mobile number. Stick to your guns and don’t accept anything less on comp. If needed ask them for comp as they won’t offer it. Ta

Thanks Sean!
That is why I asked. I am not greedy, I think it is fair compensation for our blood pressure going through the roof
. I must admit EE seem so much better than others in terms of customer service.
Thanks for flagging up the issue, it will help many others like me in knowing what's going on with crazy bills.
Cheers.
