No EU Roaming

Hi

I recently had to change my phone quickly due to old one breaking so went into an EE shop, I explained to the sales guy I have been with EE since 2011 and have always had EU roaming free, as I work abroad a lot during the year, I said I wanted my plan to stay the same, I was told It would stay as it was but it would cost me slightly more , which is fine so I was sold this plan with a A53 , due to not having any S22

Now I find that roaming isn't included and its going to cost me loads during the year and the phone isn't that good keeps dropping network all the time, my partner is on 02 ... owned by EE I think and she pays 10 quid less a month and has more data and gets free roaming in 30 countries

may move to 02 as EE charges are getting too much now, can get a better phone for less

Contracts taken out after 07/07/21 have to pay for EU roaming, either £2 for each day you use any of your UK allowances in EU or £10 pm pro-rata to buy the Roam Abroad Pass,.

Someone in France now has to pay to use their phone in your country because the UK left the European union. So why do you think that it would be fair that you should be able to go there and use your phone for free? I'm absolutely dumbfounded that you think that your country left the European union, sacrificing common policy cross border agreements such as eu roaming, free movement of labor and goods etc yet you still think you should reap the benefits of that agreement lol. When the UK was in the eu the roaming charges incurred by a British subscriber in France were written off under a common agreement as when a french subscriber went to the UK, the UK network did likewise. If O2 are offering free eu roaming they're losing money and you can be sure they're going to be recouping the losses elsewhere. They're still getting a bill with the charges you ran up from their European wholesale roaming partners and they're writing it off. It's not sustainable. In any case, you could ring EE and change to a smart plan for probably a fiver more a month and get the roam abroad addon for free. Blame the government and Brexit ultimately but other customers have to pay for it so why shouldn't you just because "you always had it free before"? I honestly can't believe what you're saying.
