So took out a sim only deal 

my account is saying its a device and sim so charging from £12 to £40 what is going on please

You will have to ring customer service, so that they can take a look at this for you, this is a public forum with no account access, and they should be able to check this out for you.

Have you received your first bill yet? You could then check all your charges.
