Leaving EE at the end of my contract

Hi, please explain like I'm 5. My contract is up at the end of May (it's the middle of March now)
Once it's up, I want out but I want to keep my number.
How do I do this, please?

As you want to keep your number, text PAC to 65075. It will respond with your PAC & how much you will have to pay in Early Termination Fees if you are still within your min term. Give the PAC to new provider. This will have the effect of cancelling your EE contract but you may be liable to pay early termination fees. Best to do this in last few days of your contract term so you have little or no overlap.
To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

Typically you would contact the new provider and they would notify EE that you're switching to them. And as part of the new contract you would ask that you keep your number & the new provider would handle it all for you.
However, some providers might not provide a phone system and in that case you would need to contact a VOIP provider like Vonage and let them handle the phone side of things.

Hi, thanks for the reply.
Say I want to go pay as you go, for instance, GiffGaff which would be about £10 per month, cancel whenever I want.
At what point would I tell EE I no longer want to be with them?

Are you asking about mobile lines or landlines?
The process differs, and the previous reply is incorrect for mobiles. For mobiles - obtain a Porting Authority Code (PAC) from EE by texting PAC to 65075. Give that PAC to your new provider, which will serve to cancel your existing contract and port your number.

@RedDeadDan just to add you can request the PAC within the last 30 days of your EE contract. Not using the PAC within 30 days will require you to request a new PAC
