I need to stop the direct debit which I understood I did 4 weeks ago. EE seems to be as nasty to their customers as all the rest of them. what does everyone else think?

i have broadband which I am happy with but no longer own the mobile phone they keep charging me for. I chatted to them on line but it appears the EE chap lied to me.

has the EE site got a help line?

@Philip3333 if this was a device on contract, then you need to give 30 day notice of termination, if you’re still within your minimum contract term you will have to pay off that remaining contract term. Just stopping a DD doesn’t terminate a contract.

I understand that, I never actually used the mobile chip, the chap in the call centre said that was ok, I just hate being lied too that's all, He assured me that EE was not like the others. I do however need my EE broadband which the chap swapped. Clearly another lie

@Philip3333 : Are you the A/c Holder for the mobile contract but are paying the bill? If so, you may cancel the DD with the bank but the A/c Holder will still be responsible for the bills.
The fact that you never used it is immaterial & therefore OK with EE. As long as you continue paying for it EE don't care what you do with it.
Your mobile & your BB have separate bills with separate DDs. Do if you cancel 1 it won't affect the other.
