Hard Search

I had to change from Plusnet to EE which was fine  but on checking Clear Score found that BT/EE had done a hard search without my permission on my credit rating. This has caused the rating to drop and I am furious. I have a high credit rating and to affect it for all of £6 permonth is to the least irritating.

What was wrong with a soft search?

An explanation would be nice!

The score you see is meaningless and is just there to try and flog you their services and commission based cards and stuff, but I do agree, you should be told, and it's probably in some T&C somewhere that they will perform a hard search on you.

Hi @Leajayse---

Thanks for coming to the community.

You can find ways to query something that's showing on your credit file in our Credit files explained | Late Payment and Default Help | EE Help page and the team will get this looked into for you.

Leanne.

Sorry but that is tripe. A hard search was done on my account without my permission. Is that therefore a lie? All for £6 per month?
Thanks for your reply but as I have not made a late payment or defaulted I can't really see the point.
