End of contract options

I'm repeating the post I added onto another members question as I see it has been marked solved so here goes

I come to the end of my contract in 2 months time.  I have the iphone 12 max pro coupled to an apple watch 6.  This combination works well for me and I don't see much benefit in upgrading to the iphone 14 or apple watch 8.  Can I go over to a sim only contract on both these items?  In addition to this I visit France twice a year to see my son and family.  Does this mean that I loose my European roaming by changing my plan?

@Vennwood  yes, you can change to a Sim only tariff on the phone and the Apple Watch if this ends at the same time.  You’ll need to give notice to terminate the Apple Watch then setup up the new tariff via the watch app.   It’s £7 per month with 10Gb of data and it’s a rolling 30 day contract.    Yes you would loose your ability to use your tariff allowance out of the box so to speak  but you can purchase a roaming add on when you need it too allow you to use your allowance when roaming.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Yes, you may always upgrade your contract to a cheaper SIM-Only contract from the last 45 days of your contract term.

Yes, if your current contract started before 07/07/2021 you will lose any EU roaming benefits that you have by upgrading your plan.

Hi @Vennwood

I can see you got an answer to this on another post. 🙂

Chris

Hi Chris,

Yes thanks - all sorted.  One last question though - how much notice do I need to give to change both watch and phone to sim only?

@Vennwood  You just upgrade to the sim only tariff you want. No need to give notice.     Just like you would if you wanted a new phone.   You can upgrade 45 days before your minimum term.   So you’re almost there.

the watch is different as you need to give 30 day’s notice for the Watch tariff to be terminated. You then can setup a sim only tariff for the watch via the watch app.  Obviously this is 30 days before your minimum term.
