Early upgrade

Hi all

I've got a question about an early upgrade I've just completed but can't seem to get a straight answer from anywhere.

I've pre ordered the new Pixel 9 Pro Fold via an early upgrade and paid an early upgrade fee as my contract isn't up until October. 

The phone isn't due to be released until the 4th September and I have a bill that will be due to go out on the 31st August. 

My question is the early upgrade fee I've paid covering that now as I'm paying the remainder of the contract or is the early upgrade quite literally a fee and I'll still need to pay the bill on top of it? My assumption is the upgrade fee covers what's remaining and until I get my phone I'll just still need to pay for anything above my contract.

@byzmufc  The early upgrade fee pays off your current contract but if you’ve received the bill for this 31st payment that would still be taken as the process for this has already started.     Any over payments will be placed on your account and go towards future bills.

I actually paid the upgrade fee on Tuesday and then got a text yesterday to say my bill payment was going out on the 31st which is what threw me off. They start the bill process early if Tuesday wasn't early enough!

@byzmufc  It takes around 7 days to take payment once you receive the bill that’s how DD are.   It’s an automated process and because you ordered the day before it’s probably not fully processed so the bill will have still been sent,    It’ll sort itself out don’t worry.
