EE Fraud Department contact details

Hi

 

Is there a direct contact number for EE's fraud department?

 

I would like to report identity theft done in my name last month.

Welcome to the community.

If your daughter fills in our complaints form, a dedicated team will look into this to make sure the correct processes have been followed and give her a call to discuss the next steps.

Hopefully, they can help get this sorted.

Hello. We’ve  just tried to fill in the form  but she can’t complete it as she doesn’t have the account number as she didn’t set the account up. We keep coming up against the same problem. 
She will now submit a formal written complaint along with a subject access request. 

Sorry to hear this has happened to your daughter.

EE will do nothing about this. Legally, they are the ones who have been defrauded and so they can either declare it fraud, or pursue your daughter for the balance, whose identity has been stolen. Unless you can prove EE has not followed the very lax Ofcom requirements for identity verification, they will not do anything. May advice is 

1. Do not pay them a penny, they will use this against you.

2. Keep a record of all communication and record all phone calls

3. Use the fraud number for any credit rating agencies to have it removed from your daughters account.

4. Ignore any threatening letters from EE demanding money, or threats about debt collection, you can use the fraud crime number to stop debt collectors.

I contacted as many people I could online including journalists, councillors and my MP. My MP contacted EE to ask about the situation, and within 45 minutes EE reversed their position and closed down the accounts. EE don’t want any bad publicity so if you make a big enough stink they will back down. Search the rest of this forum as I believe someone was collecting stories and a consumer rights journalist was interested. Don’t give up, it was one of the most stressful things to happen to me.
