Confused

I thought I’d just upgraded to an iPhone 14 to lower my monthly bill but I’m so confused with it all! My current contract doesn’t end till June 23 and is £91 odd per month, this new one is £53 odd per month. The Email says additional line’?!? All I wanted to do was lower my monthly bill so I’m confused? I don’t mind signing up to a new 24 month contract but what’s the catch with this? Do I have to return my phone and also will there be extra charges as the new monthly cost is lower than it was it’s misleading and unclear when I ordered it. Thank you in advance

You haven't upgraded. You've ordered a new additional line. Now you're paying for both.

You can't downsize your plan mid-term.
