I’ve been given a new iPhone 15 Max by our company along with a sim for O2. I’ve inserted the sim and transferred everything from my iPhone 14 Max but the O2 service is rubbish so I now want to stay with EE. If I put my EE SIM card in my new phone will everything just carry on as before.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Thanks for the replies. It turns out that the WiFi calling hadn’t been activated at O2’s end!!! All sorted now and able to make and receive calls in the house! I’ll be sticking with my “free” O2 package then! 😁

Your price-plan, mobile number and all associated details, are associated with the SIM.

@Dillfox21 If this is a company phone and they have now changed over from EE to o2 then the EE sim will be disconnected as the company was paying for it.
This is an issue you need to take up with your company.
If the EE sim is in your name and you are paying for it yourself you can put your sim in any device you choose. Your company though might want you to use the number/sim they have provided for you as they are paying for it.

Thanks for the reply. The EE sim is mine, I had a pay monthly account. My husbands company have just changed contracts to O2 and I was added as a directors wife. I was initially pleased but having experienced the O2 rubbish signal( I can’t receive calls or texts unless I go to the bottom of the garden!) for less than 24 hrs I’m disgusted. Will I have to get a pac code from O2 now to go back with EE?

@Dillfox21 , do9 you not have wifi? You can then get wifi calling on your phone, otherwise, yes you will have to get a pac code to move back to EE, unfortunately, so long as the company accepts that you want to change network, as they have given you a phone with an 02 SIM card, would advise you to check with them to make sure that it is ok.

Thanks. We do have wi Fi but for some reason WiFi calling won’t work on the O2 phones, and yes it is switched on. Our WiFi is with BT and it’s not the best as we’re a bit remote. But I’m sure it worked when I was with EE and hubby with Vodafone. It’s like we’ve gone back ten years!

It's always wise to test out any proposed new network with a PAYG phone before committing to a move. Despite popular misconception, the coverage & service levels do vary between the 4 MNOs!
