My husband and I have our own business. Unfortunately, when the EE contract was set up it was set up in his name. Every time a new device is added to the contract we have gone through the same 'hoop jumping' of requiring my husband's presence to verify over the phone that I have authority to act on the account. We requested a change of ownership over the phone and 'assumed' this had been done - but having just tried to add another phone to our contract I have been told I don't have the authority and they will need to speak to my husband over the phone. AGAIN! What must I do to get this changed - is there a form that can be completed and signed by us both like bank mandates for example as quite frankly we are at a point where we are considering termination our contract and going to another network. We are in Construction - my husband is rarely at his desk and we need a communications provider who understands the demands of business. I would love to hear back from EE (or any one in the Community) who has any advice for how this change can be done and done permanently - not just the 'one-off' which it clearly was over the phone when we were led to believe that was it done. I look forward to replies - thank you.

The account holder needs to be a legal entity of their own. You refer to company directors, which implies a limited company or an LLP. Both of these are entities of their own, where the account is held in the company's name and certain individuals may be authorised points of contact.
This does not apply if the organisation is a sole-trader.

Thank you for your reply,
Yes we are a limited company. Following the long telephone conversation (both Directors in attendance) wit EE we just assumed that I would then have equal authority to act on the account - but I hit the same brick wall every time I try to add to the contract.

If the account is held by a LTD, then that LTD is the account holder and not any specific individuals. An LTD is capable of entering into contracts in its own right, this is the whole basis.
EE-staff would have to confirm the means of authority, but my understanding is that each member of staff would need setting up on the account as an authorised party with their own password, but can then act individually.

I am set up on the account with my own password but still can't actually do anything.

Good afternoon @StellaBS57
Welcome to the EE Community.
We don't have access to accounts via this public forum, but from what you've described here, it almost sounds like the account is set up as a personal one rather than a business account.
Small business and LTD accounts will usually be set up under the company name, and then you can nominate two named account managers that can make full changes including additional lines.
Has the kind of account you're using been confirmed by our team?

I completely agree - the whole concept of "change of ownership" applies to two separate legal entities.
The top-line of the address on each monthly bill is the place to check. "Limited" or "LTD" should feature if this account is setup as a business one.
There are a few other means to check, but that will be the quickest.

Thanks @StellaBS57.
I've had a check and I can still log into my personal account via the business tab on the EE website.
Like @bristolian highlighted, a great way to say for sure will be if you check your bills / invoices, this will show a name on a personal account, or a company on a business account.
