I'm looking at switching provider but stupidly cancelled my direct debit before reading any cancellation T&C's.
On a 30 day rolling contract, and see I need to give 30 days notice. My original bill was due on the 7th with payment to be taken on the 15th.
I've since changed my DD payment date to the end of the month, but not sure whether payment is still taken on the 15th, and whether changing the date will actually reinstate the DD?
Also seen the ability to pay in advance manually with debit card, would it be worthwhile making a payment to cover what's due on the 15th to avoid a missed payment, or does that need to come from the original payment method?
Thanks for any advice!

If you have a DD in operation you shouldn't make a manual payment on or soon after your billing date. It is then too late to stop the DD being auto taken in full. Even if the DD fails the 1st time of asking it will be auto attempted again about 7 days later. Now the extra will be used as credit against your next bill. It won't show on your a/c until the next bill.

Thanks for you reply!
That makes sense with the manual payment, would a second attempt actually work if the DD has been cancelled with the bank?

I'm not sure as from EE's point of view the DD is still live & they would attempt to use it as normal.
