@4130rider  It won’t show until you are billed.   You don’t have a bill yet.

Do you have a DD in operation?

@XRaySpeX   That shouldn’t matter if the bill hasn’t been raised yet.   Only once a bill is given is the DD set in motion to take payment.  Payment with 9 days before the billing date or even payment date will pay the bill before the DD is set in motion to take payment    It 7 days after receiving the bill the DD taken.    The OP has only put the payment on their account to be taken for the bill once it’s been raised.

@4130rider   You can not pay the bill before a bill is given. All you have done is put the payment on your account for that bill once it’s given to you.

@Chris_B : It isn't clear from the OP what the timetable here is.

"recent" implies the bill in Q was issued previously to paying it & therefore is extant.

9 days from my billing date,

It would appear that OP is using "billing date" for "payment date".

The upshot of this that the billing date, at which a DD is triggered, was prior to the payment on 1st Feb & the OP made a payment after the DD was triggered

Accordingly whether the OP is set up for DDs is totally pertinent.

@XRaySpeX   I’m just reading the OP again.     I might of miss read this completely. lol

Sorry,

if you pay by DD and you made a manual payment that DD once billed is set in motion to take payment via the process of DD.     You can’t make a manual payment once billed and expect that to be used as payment ,   DDs are automatically set in motion once billed.

your payment will sit on your account for next month bill as it’s in place to cover that bill before your are billed.

That's OK, @Chris_B ! It's not that clear anyway what OP wants to say. The effect of not yet seeing the manual payment is consistent with our current way of thinking.

@4130rider : If you have a DD in operation you shouldn't make a manual payment on or soon after your billing date. It is then too late to stop the DD being auto taken in full. Even if the DD fails the 1st time of asking it will be auto attempted again about 7 days later. Now the extra will be used as credit against your next bill. It won't show on your a/c until the next bill.
