In the tariff refresh last year EE did away with the Anytime Upgrade, this again was highlighted when iPhone pre-orders went live and people were told they would not be able to swap their handset in 12 months time.
Has this made a comeback or is it an error on the EE website? For the S25 Ultra the main page says Anytime Upgrade (see image below)
But when you click into the tariff details there's no mention of it (see below)
Looking at the T&Cs which were refreshed on January 15th it says:
Upgrade Anytime
Available to customers on Essentials Plus, All Rounder and Full Works plans who have taken out or upgraded
to a new Pay Monthly contract with airtime on an eligible mobile phone directly from EE. You can participate in
Upgrade Anytime after day 15 of your plan if your EE account is up to date with all payments. You’ll have to
pass a credit check and the data allowance on your new plan must be the same or higher than the data allowance
on your current plan. You may have to pay an early upgrade fee and or an upfront cost for your new handset
and we’ll tell you this before you upgrade. If you take part in Upgrade Anytime you may choose to trade in your
current device. It must be returned in full working order, be able to power up, and have any security features
such as Find My iPhone disabled, otherwise a damage fee may apply, see ee.co.uk/upgradeanytime for
charges. Your device cannot be returned so ensure all contacts and data have been backed up before sending
it to us.
So is it back or not?
