@Amy997 And you should be able to with a 30 day rolling contract. The only minimum time spent is 30 days as that’s what the contract is. The 6 month rule is changing to a full device contract.

I totally agree with you. I also have the same plan as you and only use a minimal amount of data so tried to change plan and was also told I have to wait six months. I have always been able to change sim only plans on other networks.

@Glynn79coo Have you tried to do this via your online account? I was told something similar about a sim only contract that was eligible for upgrade and was told by customer service it can only be for a higher monthly tariff so I did the upgrade via my online account to a cheaper sim only and it went through with no problems. The upgrade was way before the standard upgrade period and was being offered as an upgrade not an early upgrade. I’ve done this twice now on sim only contracts. Both of these came from full device to sim only and then upgraded again to a different sim only at a cheaper rate a few months later. Try changing it via online account instead of customer services.

Thanks for the suggestion, I only have to wait another month now and I can reduce my tariff. I wasn't able to do online unfortunately. I did try and it wouldn't allow me to make any changes, which is when I ended up ringing EE. Not long now!!

They don't allow you to make any changes within 6 months, despite it being a being a rolling 30 day contract, I really have tried to get around it!
This is not made clear when you sign up 😕
