@stevenwilson : What is the name of the EE BB plan are you on including its speed? Which EE router & WiFi extenders, if any, do you have (read label or post a pix)?

Hey @stevenwilson

Welcome to the Community!

Just to be sure on your setup here, am I correct in thinking you have a Smart WiFi extender connected to your Hub via WiFi, then an ethernet from this device to your PC?

Also when you're noticing the speed drops, do you notice any changes to the lights on the front of the extender, or your main Hub?

Hi Peter, I'm on the full works and I can assure you its not working fully.

Yes the smart extender is on ethernet to my pc which downloads range 650 to 400 ish but i just did a further check and its upload is 0.39, also the light turned Orange for a bit so I either have to turn the main router off and the extender off and on and wait 5mins to it all fully connects and hop the upload speed is back to normal or the extender is useless and I use my pc wifi which gives me a constant above 10mg upload.

Thanks @stevenwilson.

If you're getting a consistent speed over WiFi, the this would most likely indicate an issue with the extender, or the ethernet cable being used here.

This may not be possible, but if you can it's worth trying your PC connected directly to the Hub.

An Orange light normally means that you're right at the edge of the reliable coverage range for your extender too, so it may be worth moving this closer to your Hub if you can.

@stevenwilson The EE router what's it position in the room, the EE smart wireless Pro what's its position in the other room, between them both what's the distance approx as the crow flies, number off walls, doors, type off wall solid cavity plasterboard etc between each other, the fact that the two units are using the 6Ghz to backhaul each other does NOT take much to upset the mesh balance! Does not matter in the slightest that you are Ethernet connected to the Smart wireless Pro, it helps you but does not aide in the fault!
