slow fttp speeds via wifi

I am really fed up with my fttp wifi speeds.  I have 3 x wifi extenders all provided by Ee.  I have the 900mbps package and I'm lucky if I get 200mbps on wifi.  I've tried swapping channel numbers and constant restart (recommended by the app fault finder) to no avail.  Before this I just had normal 80mbps fast fiber and I was getting at least 65 or so mbps wifi speed.

Any advice before I start with the cancellation route.  My guaranteed speed is 700mbps but I not that's at the router.  But I can't even get no where near that even standing next to the router via wifi.  Clearly an issue with the ee wifi 6 hub.

I'm not sure what the ethernet speeds are relevant to to my post?.  I have other 30 devices connected via wifi, so not sure why you are asking what the ethernet speeds are?

The modem is not fit for purpose as far I can tell, I just wish I would have stayed with the previous supplier now.  But rest assured ee will sort this out otherwise they can have their wrap equipment back and I'll cancel my contract on the basis as of not being able to provide a suitable service.

I have the extended wifi boxes as well and they are good at extending the signal, it's the really crap router not capable of distribution of wifi speeds.

@Dazvr46  where did you see any ISP would guarantee 700Mbps on WiFi?

WiFi speeds in your home are dependent on may things, that only you can influence, hence the question, what are your speeds on a wired ethernet connection.

Cuz wired speeds are reliable & consistent; wireless is neither.

I didn't say that the speed for wifi was guaranteed at 700mbps.  That's is via ethernet I understand that.

Last year with a different supplier and different modem I was getting at least 350 to 450 mbps via wifi.  The past few days I'm lucky to get 150 to 200 mbps wifi.

 

Thanks I know that.  But I expect to receive better wifi speed than what I am getting now.

For normal fibre speed previously at 80mbps via ethernet I was getting 65mbps at least via wifi before the system was upgraded to fttp.  I know you lose around 30% to 40% speed via wifi.   But to not even get 20% is ridiculous.   Im better off saving £45 a month and staying with fibre

Which frequency band is your device connecting to? Which Wi-Fi spec is it? What channel width? 

My devices connect to both 2.4ghz and 5ghz   as the modem settings are very restricted I cannot separate these via the said.   Also the channel numbers are also restricted on 5ghz (I cannot change) so stuck at channel 100 along with every other tom **bleep** and Harry in my section of the street.

I have tried connecting under wifi version 5, wifi version 6 compatibility mode and wifi version 6 normal.  All have the same results. 

When I do a speed test via the app, it always says there is any issue with your broadband and maybe restarting the modem will help.  Do this and it does jack diddly squat.
