Hi! I moved over from a BT Smart Hub 2 to an EE Smart Hub 2 over the weekend. All is working ok apart from my work laptop that now throws up this message on all https sites
An application is preventing Microsoft Edge from safely connecting to this site
"Sophos" didn't install properly on your computer or network. Contact your organisation to fix the issue.
net::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID
Hide advanced
You're missing a required root certificate for "Sophos". To fix this problem, ask your organisation to review the configuration instructions for "Sophos". Apps that may cause this error include antivirus, firewall, web-filtering and web proxy software.
The work laptop is using "Always on VPN" - I have spoked to our IT support who weren't much help at the moment and advised checking with EE!
I have tried turning on port clamping, cleared the browser cache/cookies and clearing the SSL certificates but get the same issue.
What does work is I have another router hub that has a US VPN built in (that is connected to the main EE hub) - if I connect to that then it works ok so suspect is VPN related.
I'll go back to our IT support the but wondered if anyone else has had this problem?

@worthywow1 Wired or wireless connected to the EE Router? And if you can confirm your EE Router from link below.

Hi @worthywow1
If other devices work then that suggests it is your works laptop. Sophos is security software.
Thanks

Hi - thanks for replying.
I've tried both wireless and wired. The hub is a SH31B with the smart wifi extenders.
As mentioned is intriguing that it works when connecting wirelessly to my gl-inet Net GL-MT6000 Flint modem that is using OpenVPN and is hardwired to the EE modem.

@worthywow1 You have the EE Smarthub+ DSL variant, don't think it would be associated with the extender, and as you get same wired/wireless, but would try a test with going to advanced and turning of IPV6 to see how you get on doing that. EE do not mess with VPN allegedly but do not use or require.

Thanks - will give it a go!
When checking the hub type just realised it's not the latest wifi 7 smart hub pro - I've just switched from BT to EE broadband and at the time they mentioned wifi 7 - should I have got the Pro hub?!

@worthywow1 Automatic with the top 2 packages, 1.6Gb/s onwards, or if you wished £10/month as an addon to the package depending on which FF you have, so no, the one you have is it. They are not bad router's in my opinion just heavily locked down as an ISP router. The need for an app is just wrong but it is what it is.

This would be an issue with the way work have protected web pages with Sophos when you are not on your VPN by the looks of your message @worthywow1 so I would go back to your IT and explain it works when connected through your pre-configured VPN Hub that you posted about but not when you connect to the net with out the device.
