new wifi extenders

Hi - i have 3 new wifi extenders with my new Smarthub Plus - when i look at them in Hub Manager, one is red, and says Not Connected, when in fact its display is aqua and looks fine, the other 2 are connected fine but one has a 2.4HHz connection and the other is 5GHz. I set them up the same from the same socket near the router - why is this? and also they are not solving my connection problems -- they seem to need to be in-sight of each other to work!!! i live in a big old house so  i'll need about 6 of them!!!

Help! any ideas???

Watching this with interest. Mine shows aqua, but "connected" only via Advanced Wireless, under the Advanced Settings side of Hub Manager, with no devices connected. Home/Network shows no extender connected.

EE can see it, and even read off the devices it's serving.

Bit of a puzzle really.

@richthepig What are the models of the EE Smart wireless WiFi extenders, and please check that they are all the same model number, label will be on each. Setting up mesh is not that easy a task, and the EE Web Manager Interface helps a little in the Advanced Tab, Wireless, Extenders section but does not solve all problems, advice would be to do one at a time, let it settle a few days, then onwards to the next. Best operation is central position of router and mesh outwards from there, and the EE has some problem that appears when trying to cascade extender to extender to extender. EE has its own diagnostic tool when you send HELP to 66033 from a registered mobile on your account, you can request when you get the call back after the diagnostic is run and the will send you the Report pdf file so you can see what they have also seen.

In-Home Customer Summary Report from HomeView+ this is the detail that would be sent.

They are all the same Smart WiFi Plus extenders - they are runnng the same firmware (according to the display of the extenders in Hub manager - adavnced/advanced wireless).

Ive got them all showing an aqua display and they are doing ok (although i havent really got them where i need them tbh) - but wierdly the hub manger has one in red and says it isnt connected- i dont really understand this as they appear to be working and look ok and im getting an ok wifi signal  . . . .

Anyway . . . . i think i will have to go back to using devolo  powerline adapters as well as the wifi extenders as there is no way i can get coverage in the whole house with just 3 of the wifi exteders . . . . just spoke to EE and they wont supply any more . . .

@richthepig Don't use the EE Smart wireless extenders, as i have Asus mesh, but from the forum and what i see on my EE Smarthub+ web interface about them, then the interface is lacking in any help or guidance to what is going on with them, some say that the EE app is better but cannot comment regarding it.

Cannot comment how good the wireless signal is power wise regarding there operation, but from your description and if you cannot move further away and maintain wireless connectivity then they may be lower powered AP mode.

As said earlier, one at a time would be my mode to find out what and were they can operate, it seems that the operation and learning mode of the mesh with EE is quite hard to fathom, but that can be said of any mesh working in wireless only operation.

If your powerline covered your whole house before, then it should be able to do so now, if you are going to try watch if you have both the EE and the Powerline going at the same time, just incase you get wireless clash with both in operation.
