Hi
I have been trying to import contacts in vcard format into my hub. Apart from manually entering them in to the phones, this is the only way. However I get an error "invalid data CHOP3-903"
I have checked the format by opening in a text editor and it conforms to the standard vcf file format. So I do not know where to go from here
As anyone successfully imported contacts. Would it be possible for them to post an example vcard that imported (after anonymising of course).

I was wrong: the black 'import' button does work, it just doesn't react 'on-click'. Only the slow import-progress note at top right acknowledges that progress is happening.

Testing that, I edited my vcf text to remove all unneeded TEL lines (leaving mostly one TEL line per contact, some 2, one 3). On my kit, upload then failed 'CHOP3-903' as usual. Maybe there was a confounding failure. With all three lines restored for every contact, it worked again - can't guess why!
Table evidently downloads to handsets each time they are re-set - the bigger the table, the slower the so-called 'synchronisation'. If I were 18 not 80, I'd have a look at what generates that stream, where it sits, and whether it's encrypted.

I am pleased to report that the new firmware r4.27.1-R-1862254-PROD-84001 in my SMARTHUB SH35A finally has an EXPORT CONTACTS facility ..... So don't tell me if complain things don't happen ... only taken 3 years and the IMPORT of CONTACT from SAMSUNG still fails .... BUT IT'S PROGRESS .... OF A SORT.
PS.... I did get a bollocking for stating I was part of a trial when someone on here dropped me in it .... the trial finished months ago so I'm OK now for the person concerned !!!!!

@humeka Time to get the toolkit out and take a look at the file.... Many more years left on the ever ending calendar, failure no doubt you can let EE FW bods know who is what and then a drop down box for different variants to the standard.

Ha Ha Ha - how absolutely typical...!
New Firmware r5.19.1-R-2036010-PROD-83002 and GUI 3.17.5 was installed overnight / morning of 17th September on my SH31B (aka SH32, aka 6+).
This cleared a number of issues, and so I renamed all of my devices yet again from the EE App, on the afternoon of 17th September.
However, come yesterday lunchtime, 20th September, and all of my device names had reset / been reset to default.
So - I bit the bullet, and this afternoon 21st September, I did a full Factory Reset of my Hub.
Just prior to pressing the Factory Reset Button, I exported all of my Phone Contacts in a .vcf file. I compared that data to my original 18KB Contacts File (which I'd laboriously manually generated on Notepad+ back in October 2024) and the same number of contacts were there (92) but in a smaller 12KB file size - with a lot of lines missing in comparison to my original file, and no CRLF's seemingly required...
So, the Factory Reset button was pressed (from the Webpage HMI), and then I started to rebuild my data on the Hub.
I registered one of my five Phones, and imported today's exported Contacts.vcf file.
I rang my Landline number from my Mobile and - guess what - the Landline phone rang, but my Name and Contact details didn't appear on the Landline Phone's display, because...
...today's exported 12KB Contacts.vcf hadn't loaded past 'B'.
I tried three more times to import today's Contacts.vcf file, and got the same result every single time!
So I imported my original 2-year old 18KB Contacts.vcf file, and got immediate success - all 92 contacts are now all present and correct in all of my 5x Phones' menus.
Later this afternoon, I'll be renaming my devices from the EE App. I've just checked, and the Customised Names are still intact on the App, so it shouldn't take too long.
And if I find that the Customised Device Names get dropped yet again by the Hub, even after a Full Factory Reset, I will be lighting the Blue Touchpaper...!

@Gelert5 Thanks for the update, was beginning to think it was not happening after all this time on the pinned post. If you need the match for the touch paper don't be asking EE, they keep the wet one for the occasion....
FW: r5.19.1-R-2036010-PROD-83002 and the gui is at App version 3.17.5 17/09/2026 OP Posted
