It's quite normal for pings to time out occasionally when the target is doing other more important things.

thank you for replying but it does not stop it will always time out every 35 seconds and pause as example when im playing a game it will pause my game for 4 seconds and keep doing that every 35 seconds so it is rlly annoying

is there no way to fix it?

@SRy0men An OP posted recently that he had logged into the router and set the wireless mode to wi-fi 5 and that fixed his gamming mode, card on the rear of the router for the details you need. Give it a try if you want.

this sort of did fix it however once i turn my pc off or restart it in anyway the problem comes back sometimes if i uninstall my wifi adapter usb it will work until i turn off or reset my pc

@SRy0men Have you re checked that the router settings are still good, hit save after changing the option.

This is everything i have tried i may have missed some things out this is just a summary.

Additional Observations on Other Devices:

  • Issue Consistency: The same "request timed out" problem occurs on other devices when using a WiFi USB adapter.
  • Different Devices: The issue is not isolated to one specific device, indicating a broader network or compatibility issue rather than a problem with a single computer.

Updated Summary:

Problem Description:

  • Issue: Intermittent "request timed out" errors when pinging, causing pauses in connectivity.
  • Context: The problem persists across multiple devices when using WiFi USB adapters.
  • Adapter: Realtek 8812BU Wireless LAN 802.11ac USB NIC.
  • Observation: Issue started after switching to a new BT EE router.

Actions Taken:

  1. Firewall:
    • Turned off the firewall, which initially seemed to help but did not resolve the issue permanently.
  2. Driver Management:
    • Uninstalled and reinstalled the WiFi adapter, which temporarily fixed the problem.
    • Updating the driver caused the issue to reappear.
  3. Hardware:
    • Replaced the WiFi adapter with the same model; the problem persisted.
    • The issue affects any device using a WiFi USB adapter.
  4. Network Settings:
    • Checked and configured router settings.
    • Ensured both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands are enabled with appropriate channels.
    • Adjusted security settings and ensured Wi-Fi 6 performance mode.
  5. Network Troubleshooting:
    • Restarted WLAN service, leading to the issue reappearing.
    • Performed a clean installation of Windows without resolving the issue.
    • Configured IPv4 settings and considered changes to DHCP settings.
  6. Other Devices:
    • Tested with multiple devices, confirming the issue persists with any device using a WiFi USB adapter.

Current Router Configuration:

  • Wireless Bands: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz both enabled.
  • Channels: Smart channel selection for both bands (2.4 GHz on Channel 11, 5 GHz on Channel 100).
  • Security: WPA2-Personal with a strong password.
  • IPv4 Settings:
    • Gateway IP: 192.168.1.254
    • Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
    • DHCP Range: 192.168.1.64 - 192.168.1.253
    • Lease Time: 1 day
