Wired connection slow to connect

Neil0

When I switch on a device with a wired connection to my router (desktop or TV) there is a delay of several seconds before a connection is established.  Reliability and speed are excellent when connected but I did not experience this lag when I was previously with BT.

Cana anyone shed any light on this?

@rytenuff1 It would appear that you are on the latest version off the FW for the EE Smarthub+, and there are two solutions on the thread, either one will work. The Ethernet port issue has been with the Router for 2 years now, many FW updates have passed since then and not once has it been fixed or addressed. Partial list below, and there may be newer just depends if someone post's different.

FW: r1.35.0-R-1138091-PROD-83002
FW: r2.68.11-R-1260390-PROD-83002
FW: r2.68.12-R-1270837-PROD-83002
FW: r2.68.16-R-1296172-PROD-83002
FW: r2.68.17-R-1303190-PROD-83002
FW: r2.68.18-R-1303195-PROD-83002
FW: r2.72.3-R-1302579-PROD-83002

Hmm, I seem to be way behind on the firmware at r2.64.7-R-1303938-PROD-1.

How can I update this?

@imacken That is Pro FW that you are quoting!

Duh, of course!  What is the latest f/w on the Pro?

Hi All,

Good news is that this has been fixed and tested (migrating from STP to RSTP) but it's currently in r3.18.x which I can't imagine will be a quick rollout. I'm seeing if it can be back-ported at all.

Steve, do you know if the Pro router has been fixed as well?  What version will that be? Thanks.

when's this  going to be pushed out, sick of waiting a minute for my desktop to get connected after power on or reboot..Thought my ethernet controller was faulty until I found this thread.
