Wired connection slow to connect

When I switch on a device with a wired connection to my router (desktop or TV) there is a delay of several seconds before a connection is established.  Reliability and speed are excellent when connected but I did not experience this lag when I was previously with BT.

Cana anyone shed any light on this?

Sorry, but the EE Smart Hub connects immediately on WiFi as I said above. The Pro hub is the same.

I realised that it was in another thread on the same subject that I mentioned the WiFi situation.

For me, with all hubs over many years prior to switching to EE from BT, all connections whether WiFi or Ethernet were instantaneous on return from sleep, etc.

With the EE Smart Hub and Pro Hub, the Wi-Fi is still instantaneous, but the Ethernet connection takes around 20-25 seconds to activate.  Because of this, I have switched to the Wi-Fi connection and I hope this will be resolved at some point in the future.

@imacken : What do you mean "return from sleep"? Are you referring to the device waking up from sleep?

Yes! And from shutdown, obviously.

@imacken Do as you think you must, if you do not report or raise it as an issue then you may have a long wait!

@JimM11 Not report it? You must be joking! I’m sick of reporting it to EE. They sent an engineer out a few months ago, who said there is nothing he could do but recognised the problem. He also said that the new hub coming soon would probably fix it, but it didn’t as we now know.

I re-reported it after the engineer visit, but no one could care at EE. As far as they are concerned, they think it’s something unique to me.

@imacken I must have pointed it out 30-40 times to various post's, it's not really relevant as once the nic is up then no further delay's. You are correct, it is unique to the + and Pro but do not have a Pro so cannot confirm that one.

@JimM11thanks,  but what I meant was that EE considered it an issue unique to me and effectively dismissed it. Said they had never heard of anyone else having the issue.

I've complained about this in the week I got it, they said that it could be an issue with the lot and offered a new one, I've said that I've been seeing this issue being raised for a few months now so I doubt it would've been hardware. They also mentioned that they can see other complaints about it

This was 5 months ago

Did you ever make any progress with this? I raised a similar thread a few months ago regarding the same issue.
