Hey everyone — hoping someone here can help because this one’s driving me a bit mad. I’ve got an EE router, and for some reason my wired (Ethernet) connections keep randomly dropping, while the WiFi stays completely stable.
When it happens, anything connected via Ethernet just loses connection, but wireless devices carry on working perfectly fine.
Here’s what I’ve noticed so far: WiFi is rock solid — no drops at all Wired devices disconnect intermittently (PC, sometimes others) Restarting the router temporarily fixes it. Issue keeps coming back I’m trying to figure out whether this is:
A router hardware fault (Ethernet ports?) Firmware issue Some weird setting I’m missing Or something external I haven’t thought of Has anyone run into this with EE routers specifically, or got ideas on what to test next? I’m happy to dig into settings or run checks — just not sure where to look next. Appreciate any help 🙏

Hi @Binaarycode
Which router do you have.
Have you tried a running a switch from the router first.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply.
The Router is smarthub sh31b
i've ordered a new Ethernet cable that's hopefully coming today to see if that fixes the problem.
Haven't tried a switch, would that make a difference if the wifi is working but connection is dropped? Seems more like a router/cable/pc issue?
Thanks
