Hi,
Have been using the new wifi 7 router and wifi hub pro now for a month or so, not sure if I'm doing something wrong, followed the procedure in the box, router works fine and hits speeds as my contract.
My issue is the wifi , barely scraping 50mbps on my tv , and less than 20mbps on my laptop using wifi, tv is less than 2 metres away with only a door inbetween, distances from hub to wifi pro are a ceiling and wall away, surely this should be faster!
Came from a bt hub and disc which had stable faster speeds on older tech.
Also the wifi hybrid connect, never stays connected.
Bit annoyed as work from home most days and need a stable connection, is there anything I can try before I reign hell down on some poor employee of EE.

@Mally19 you will only get faster speeds from devices that are capable of it. You don't say what model your TV or laptop are,. But I doubt your TV ia capable of more than 100Mbps.
Though you mention short distances, walls can easily block out the higher frequencies used to acheive the higher speeds.
What EE Broadband service/speed do you have?

I am on the full package 900 atm.
The tv is a Sony x95l mini led, should be capable enough, the laptop is a dell latitude 3420, ran faster on the BT setup I had, no expert but I'm sure it can run faster than 20mbps.
Hard to believe that 1 wall and a door can stop a signal so much.

@Mally19 have you tried wired ethernet connections when doing your speed tests?
It may also help to turn on compatibilty mode/WiFi5 mode on the WiFi settings in the router.

We’re on Fibre 900, tho on the Smart Hub Plus, and 2 extenders. Not sure why they sent you a Pro.
Have to say we’ve had, and have, several annoying issues with EE, but speed to the new Hub/WiFi coverage in the house isn’t one and indeed is noticeably better than the SH2/disc we had w BT. All our main AV stuff is Ethernet connected via a switch but everything else is wireless and performs so much better. This is to a wifi telly downstairs, a wifi telly upstairs, a printer upstairs, and a Sonos Roam, Fire Tablet, and 2 iPhones wherever, plus various Alexa devices dotted around.
It’s really shown me how much the environment and kit influences wireless performance in the home. This is why any ISP will only give a guarantee to the hub itself.
This is a test to my iPhone just now. No consolation, or practical help, I know.
Hope you get a fix via either extenders or Ethernet/powerline products.

I wasn’t impressed with the hub pro WiFi performance either. Also had one extender. Poor speeds and signal in parts of my house. Also my PlayStation portal’s performance was dreadful, constant lag and stuttering. Gave up the ghost and bought a WiFi 7 Asus router with no extender and the difference is night and day. Fast WiFi speed everywhere. Getting 940mbps WiFi speeds on my IPhone 16pm on a 900mbps connection. The portal is now perfect, no lag or stuttering it just works as it should. The router also has 4 2.5gb lan ports, so once EE sort out the TV ordering issue, I’ll be content. For a few weeks anyway.

@Reign_in_Beard What Asus model did you settle on?

The GT-BE98. It’s absolutely massive and my wife absolutely hates the look of it. But it’s a beast.

£700 😱

@Reign_in_Beard Pretty and functional just don't cut it for the spider antenna that's why you have the massive wi-fi reach another Asus rock's....🤣👍
