Wifi Connectivity constantly dropping

Hi there, first post for me.
I have been with BT for years, but after continued issues with our connection being disrupted by weather due to the copper wires coming to the house I've upgraded and gone for the gigabit fttp
Had it installed yesterday and we've got from around 35mbps to 600mbps!

Perfect! Until, I go to use it.
Equipment connects to the EE network without issue, and speed tests show it is super fast. But then the wifi connection drops off.
I have a Sky Q box, and 3 mini boxes. They connect most of the time I attempt, but then lose the wife connection within a few minutes.
My work laptop this morning wouldn't stay connected to the wifi for longer then 10 mins at a time, meaning I lost a lot of work, and have had to drive 30 miles to work in the office!
When my iPhone connects it shows speeds of 400-700mbps, and the strength looks good.

Has anybody else had this issue with the router on fttp being so temperamental?

I've tried changing the wifi channel and also swapped to WiFi5 but it's made no difference.

I'm close to cancelling my contract and going to Virgin.

Please help!

@AlanWsM Which hub do you have, and is this equipment all new to match your gig upgrade? Are any of the Sky Q systems on ethernet network or have you analysed the channel arrangement as you said you have changed the channels, are you perhaps bumping into the wi-fi hotspots of the Q or mini boxes. Although moving to fttp is supposed to be instant and without problems, there have been cases of just leaving it to settle helps in case you have a fibre issue. I would step back, turn of all the Q systems and make sure that the router is working steady as the first step and move on from there.

And SKY Q link if you need it. Setting up Sky Q | Sky Help | Sky.com | Sky Help | Sky.com

Hi. I'm currently in the office so I can't check, it is a Smart Hub (not sure if it is the plus or not), and I've signed up to the Full Gigabit essentials (900Mb) plan.
I was previously on BT Fibre (not fttp). I ran an Open Reach Modem connected to a Asus router.
The Sky Q box, and the 3 Q mini boxes have been in situ for some time.
I had issues with Sky with this set up initially, but fixed it by adding a hidden network specifically for the Sky to use and it was 95% reliable, using the specific wifi. I tried this sort of set up, utulising the guest wifi network but it still didn't stay connected.
I had also added an additional Asus Router upstairs, hardwired to a gigabit switch and coming off the Main router.
This was to provide my son with a dedicated network for his work as he's photographer and needs to upload/download, and this freed up the network downstairs.

I think I will do as you say, take the power out of the three Q mini boxes and go from there.
I have not analysed the channels etc, and to be honest, wouldn't know how to do this.
I was going to try and trouble shoot with Customer Support earlier, but had lost so much time I simply had to get in to the office, and will probably be here now until midnight!

I couldn't even maintain connection to my work laptop this morning, not ideal when I am meant to be presenting progress to a client on a Teams Call and I can't stay online for more than 5 minutes.

This morning, everything I attempted to connect to my EE Wifi would connect, but then disconnect again within a few minutes.
I have even plugged in a Sky Q booster in the lounge next to the TV/Sky Q box, and then also plugged in an EE Booster upstairs in my office and hardwired a Sky Q minibox to it, but it still wouldn't stay connected for more than a couple of minutes, if it would even connect.

@AlanWsM Don't waste you time, get the Asus router direct onto the ONT and use the third party modem setup.

Put the EE router back in the box, you really should have done this from the start. Moving from fttc to fttp ONT is your new modem replacement, Ethernet from Asus Wan to ONT connection, follow help and i will send you the link. Your good to go.

I suspected this may be the case!
Apologies for the stupid questions, but......... can I use the new EE extenders with my existing Asus router?
I want to get a signal out in the garden if possible.
One thing that sold me on signing up was the extenders and ensuring I could get a signal in my garden to add an additional Sky Q mini box for my garden tv for the Olympics and Euros!

And thanks for taking the time to read and understand my ramblings. Much appreciated!!

@AlanWsM This is the full link, just in case you need it, find the section for installing third party router's not going to make it overly simple for you, as sounds like you know what you are doing. The new EE hub+ is not fully there yet, so don't beat your head of the wall.

Thanks Jim, I edited my previous reply slightly.........

But Thanks again

@AlanWsM For a user with his own router/router's, do not understand why you would not even look at the Asus RP-AX58, your question is a bit mute for me, so i do not use any Smart wi-fi extenders from EE, this for me is more of a principle thing, nothing else, the router from EE is needed for only 2 thing's, landline phone and or EE TV, none of which i have.

I am checking the EE superhub+ at present it's not bad, hate that you have to use a mobile to get things done but it is what it is, with my asus router double NAT at present, Ax58 in repeater mode to the EE, powerline/powerline wi-fi to EE, older fttc waiting on OR finger out to get fttp done, not far away but how long is a piece of string.

Suspect if you want to stay wi-fi mesh using EE then you will have to use ALL of there equipment. Sky Q is an delicate one, although they have allegedly updated the FW to better work without sky broadband, i ditched Q long time ago, as would not put up with it's stupidness, and hung my own unit of the dish. We can cross that bridge when you need, but your priority is to get yourself back up and running quick. EE only support there own equipment, same for nearly any ISP.👍

Thanks Buddy. I know some of this stuff but struggle on other things, hence my plea for help.
I'll revert back to my old router in the morning.
If (and I suspect it will) I'll list my set up on a **bleep** packet sketch and hopefully can dip my bucket in to your well of knowledge once more to see how best to get my range extended.

I will confess to being a little 'cheap'  and was exploring the option of using the EE kit as I can get 2 more extenders gratis from them!

Just Googled the Asus Mesh Extender
Think that is my answer.

Thankyou Obi Wan!
