I have the old white Smart hub and extender discs. My Ring camera connects to the nearest disc (about three metres away) and gets a good strong signal. By the next day the signal is weak as it has connected back to the router which is at the other end of the house. A reboot of the camera reconnects to the disc, but the process repeats.
Does anyone know whether there is a way to force the camera to only connect to the disc?

@Iane15 You can’t force the connection to the disk but you can move the disk further away from the camera. Sometimes being too close can be the issue.

Hi @Iane15
Is your disk sleeping when there is no data use.
Thanks

@Iane15 What are you doing to determine the signal strength of the Extender or at the ring camera?

how can I tell if it sleeps?

The Ring camera app tells me signal strength. This is when connected to disc.

@Iane15 Just put up the 2 RSSI numbers, pictures take time to be cleared, my ring RSSI is 41 connected to a tp-link wi-fi to get the signal at the door.

Since my last reply, the camera has disconnected from the disc and now linked to the router.

@Iane15 If you don't get it, until your pictures are cleared then there is NO viewing them, you see them ok but everyone else not. Just post your 2 RSSI values, if the camera decides it wants to go to the router it will, reset of the ring sends it to the lowest but there is no guarantee were it decides to jump too, your at least lucky it gets a connection.
