Hi all I’ve got a question I hope the amazing community can answer :

So at my home I can get 5G on my EE mobile SIM card and get speeds of up to 200mpbs on my old sky wifi router going through the fttc cable I was getting around 35-40 mobs now I have been offered a deal for broadband from EE but it says it’s powered by BT so I was wondering if I took broadband out with EE would I be getting a SIM in a router to get the quicker speeds or would I be getting the FTTC copper connection same as sky aka low speeds thanks.

You won't get a copper connection now from EE. EE sell either mobile router BB or Full Fibre with speeds up to 1.6 Gig.

"Powered by BT" merely means "Powered by OpenReach"..

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up => 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB => 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB => 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU => 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU => 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC => 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC => 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC => 2022: EE 80 Meg FTTC (no landline number)

@Matthew1195   You need to look more closely at the deal you have been offered.  It should say what the speeds are estimated at.

If they are similar to what you are getting now, then it is likely to be SOGEA which is just FTTC without the old analogue PSTN voice service via copper which is very much still available in many, but not all areas.

Finding a mobile router broadband service on the new EE site has been a greater challenge, which I have given up on for now.

Mobile BB: Pay Monthly Mobile Broadband

The same could be said about FTTC SoGEA. You apply with your postcode & all you are offered is Full Fibre from 36 Meg to 1.6 Gig.

Ah, so they now have mobile broadband under mobile phones, and no longer combine it on the broadband products.

As for the broadband, some may say you are lucky to be in a fibre only area, many are stuck on copper only for forseeable !

No, Mobile BB does come under BB in the shop:Capture.JPG

 but there is a bit of a crossed wire on the next page. Minor in the way of EE things.

Not saying that EE doesn't sell fixed line Fibre but they don't proactively offer it. Guess you have to phone up for it.
