Ever since I moved to EE I've noticed that websites often wont load first time. That is I'll put in a URL, hit go, and it will sit there doing nothing. If I try again the website will then load. I'm wondering if this is a problem with the DNS or maybe the various protection mechanisms are getting stuck - does anyone know? For now I've changed the DNS to google's public ones on my PC at least.
Edit: after clicking round a bit with the new DNS setting web browsing is massively faster.

Yes, I agree, it looks like a DNS issue. Before you changed the DNS to Google, had you tried using IP addys instead of domains to see it it was any faster?
The EE SH+ doesn't have the facility to change DNS. So, you had to change it on the PC itself.

I haven't gone that far yet but browsing is definitely faster on the google DNS. Having tested the default DNS on checkmydns it does seem to throw up a lot of failed results. Guess I'll just stick with google.

Yes, my idea of replacing with raw IP addys isn't reliable. It so far has failed to load for me.
