Hi All,
Just renewed with EE and got the white router (the one with the small circle in the middle) and everything was fine..Then my wife connected to is and nothing works typical...cant stream...and my daughters friend connected to it and she couldnt get internet at all..strange as all other devices are fine...
My daughter has the same phone as the wife and she is fine..Iphone XR
So I looked settings being in IT i changed the Security to WPA - Auto from WPA2 - Auto and everything is fine now obviously it is saying weak security..because of the WPA..
Is anyway to fix this ? it is odd my daughter is fine but the wife wasn't. Tried the usual tricks reset etc.
Older routers you could change the cipher suite but on these you can't..as i understand..
Any ideas?

No weak security is based on WPA (old security) the password is preset by EE and it’s long upper, lower, and numerical…
it personally doesn’t bother me too much but it’s just bizarre why some devices have problems with WPA2 and even my daughters friend who has iPhone 12 Pro connected but had no internet and my wife (of all people lol) couldn’t stream Facebook or YouTube videos it just kept freezing..resetting router back to factory and reset network connections on the phones did nothing ..changed to WPA works fine..
i could call tech but I fear they won’t know what else that can be done..
I would prefer WPA2 of course..
