Upsteam errors causing high upsteam ping.

Hi

I'm just wondering if anyone can enable error correction on my line, every few seconds my line will have issues with upstream errors and this is causing online games not to work

I have had open-reach engineers out before when I was with BT but as the connection works they are not interested.

I worked for BB tech support in the past doing all the usual stuff test sockets different filters new wires, and connected the laptop directly with a cable to ensure it wasn't a wireless issue its always the same problem.

Some screen shots below

As you can see the upload ping can be upwards of 650ms in game I have seen over a 1000 before

Why don't try turning on Downstream Error Control?

What router is that?

Hi,

I can't turn it on or off it has to be done by the ISP in BTW systems ( used to be BTW eCo Plus ).

The first image is stats from a home hub, Its just telling me the line hasn't got error correction enabled I assume I'm sent on a Fast path profile. The second 2 images are a speed test from Cloudflare as they give quite good info on ping details for up and downstream https://speed.cloudflare.com/

Ah, yes, I was forgetting as it was so long ago. The Fast Path / Interleaved Path link type was set at the DSLAM/exchange. I dunno whether you may still request the ISP to switch to Interleaved Path for more error correction.

@beanofcoffee  there is no one on here who can make any adjustments to your line, you would need to call customer services and hope to get to someone who may be able to help.

That said I don't think there is much control ISP's can make to DLM on FTTC, other than reset it.

@Mustrum Not even sure if CS can reset the DLM, i asked way back in July when having issue, unless it was just way over the Advisor's head at that time, just got the OR engineer to do it, they never fixed the line fault, but gave me some breathing space for couple of weeks.

@JimM11  the means to do so has existed for a few years now, there is however criteria that must be followed. Used to be only Openreach engineers could do so by call a Centre of Excellence team.

Finding someone who knows how may well be a challenge!

@Mustrum Yip, even had one of the OR engineers say, i'll give you my mobile, just call me and i will do a DLM reset for you save you all the hassle, i said would be good if line fault was just fixed, and off he went to the next job....
