Upgrade EE 900Mbps to EE 1.6Gbps

Hi

I’m currently on the EE 900Mbps Package, with 12 months of my contract left.

I’d spoke to EE Broadband Customer Service earlier, about upgrading to the EE 1.6Gbps Package. It’s available at my home.

I was told that I was an EE Legacy Broadband Customer, and that I can’t be upgraded to the EE 1.6Gbps Package. I was also told that only new customers to EE can get the EE 1.6Gbps Package.

Apparently the system won’t allow EE Legacy Broadband Customers upgrade. EE are working on it, but don’t know when, EE Legacy Broadband Customers can upgrade to the EE 1.6Gbps Package.

Is the information I’ve been told accurate? If yes, I find it very frustrating.

Thanks in Advance

Barry 🙂

I had the same issue with regards to the switch. On another note regarding the router. Bought a WiFi6 router when I just had the 900 with BT then I got the TV and the tv channels across the Internet don't work with the router. Been told it's something to do with there streaming protocol. The BT hub just about does the job but would prefer my WiFi6 router. Did u have the same issue or do your not have any TV package?

Thanks

Hi mate, yes I stream many tv channels and have zero problems with the tp-link router I use

Have you trawled through the router menu looking for access to this service

Here is mine fully working.

I know it's look bad on their behalf. I didcask the same question at me upgrading to the 1.6 ghz but was told only for new customers told tem not fair why only them. I've been a customer for sometime would be nice bit some loyalty but in the case it's a no. I will say shame on themselves. Ibhope karma will come a long bit them on the bum.

Johnathan I've been told it's because I've got the tv and they can't movie that over yet. But I've got bloody sky now as it's better so paying 20 extra a month for lowest BT tv package for the next 15 odd months 😂

But hopefully they will fix the changing over of current customers much sooner! I'm going to ring them every couple months!

I got no tv so what their excuse? I'm on the 900 package 65.99 month with EE. I want the new package 1.6 they said can't have it. Not happy.

That's really strange because they told me it's because I had the tv package but I with BT not ee....so why they can't move you up is beyond me...I would definitely ring them back and ask to speak to somebody higher up because all they have to do is change the onnet box if yours is only the gbit one.

@Jonathan19751 Is the higher speed available to you, and if you have a DV landline, then that cause's it not to be available for DV customers at present also.
