Unacceptable speeds

How is it every time I speak to EE they say according to their system I’m getting 18mbs which is false, if I’m watching tv on my laptop and get a picture message on my phone the laptop will buffer because the broadband cannot cope with doing both. I’m quite rural so getting fibre broadband is not available.

@Budredz Have you used the web manager to see what the sync speed is to your actual EE Hub?

Cannot see anything that says upstream or down stream sync, I have upstream and downstream error control they are both off, where do I check the sync speed, I have data rate is that it.

Ahhh found it, downstream sync speed currently says 14.6mbs and upstream says 1.2mbs

@Budredz That will be close to what you have then, looks like you are on an old ADSL line with those speeds. and far away from the exchange or the street cabinet box.

When you speed test, you need to make sure nothing else is connected to get the picture off what is going on.
