Thinking of switching over to EE Broadband

Looking for some advice please.

I’m at the end of my BT contract.
I have Fibre Plus and to be honest our wi fi has been stable, its fast even with multiple devices streaming but it is pretty costly and I’m not sure we are getting the best value for money.
I’m drawn to EE for broadband as I have high regard for the company as a whole.
HOWEVER;

I have concerns about changing to EE despite my positive experiences with them.

I know that the companies have ?joined and I am a loyal EE customer with many devices within our family, but I’m aware that having too many contracts can negatively impact your capacity to say, have another device, or add to plan - no matter how diligently you pay your bills.

Although it would be handy to have my broadband with EE from a management point of view (I have no other BT products) - I want to ensure I am getting the same broadband performance, as that is really the holy grail in our house!!

While choosing BT 20 months ago, I was able to do a real time test of speeds, its why I chose them. I cant find a way to do that now.

So, I’m in a “if it ain't broke don't fix it” mindset versus the possibility of a more beneficial service.

Any thoughts?

@kiltiegirl : EE uses the same OR infrastructure for its BB as does BT. You should get the same speeds.

What does BT Wholesale Broadband Availability Checker estimate for your phone number? Post just the whole table and the line above it, blanking out your phone number. If it doesn't recognise your phone number or you don't have one, use the Address Checker.

For a real-time test you could try a wired (also even wireless) speedtest, using an Ethernet cable supplied with the router, here http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest.html . Click on the "Results Page" button at the bottom of the graph you first see and then copy to here just the "Link to this result:" link that you see below the next main graph.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

Hi @XRaySpeX thanks for responding.
So I went on to the link you very kindly provided and done the speed test and I’m hopefully about to post the result, as you suggested.

Did you get that? If not I do have a screenshot of the analytic if you think that will help.
I’m going to check the contract and see if they are living up to what they promised speed wise.

I know the actual broadband available will be the same, but wonder if there is deterioration of hardware etc that may also contribute.
I know there are lots of contributing factors.
Thanks again!
