Hi all,
I’m hoping someone can advise on whether what we’re looking to do is possible and how best to arrange it.
I’m currently an EE customer with three mobile contracts in my name, covering myself, my mam and my dad. I manage and pay for all three.
My dad currently has BT Full Fibre 500 with Halo 3, Complete Wi-Fi and Digital Voice. We upgraded to full fibre in early August 2026, which involved a new installation, and his BT contract now runs until August 2028.
What I’d like to do is take out a brand-new EE broadband and home phone package in my own name, linked to my existing EE account, replacing my dad’s BT services entirely.
Ideally, I’d choose an equivalent EE Full Fibre package, with whole-home Wi-Fi and an extender, rather than simply transferring Dad’s existing BT package across on the same terms.
I’d then take over responsibility for paying the broadband and landline bills, and my dad’s BT account would be closed completely.
One important consideration is our landline. My mam uses it regularly, so we absolutely need to retain the existing telephone number. We currently have BT Digital Voice with a wireless adapter connected to our Smart Hub 2.
I have a few questions:
We’re not looking to leave BT Group. We’re simply hoping to bring all our household services under my existing EE account, potentially save money and have the broadband and landline in my name going forward.
I appreciate the change of account holder might make this slightly more complicated than a normal BT-to-EE migration.
Has anyone done anything similar, or could someone from EE clarify whether this is possible and the best way to go about it?
Many thanks!

Hello @GarethWilliams ,
Welcome to the community,
I would suggest speaking to customer service, as they are best to letting you know, but I suspect you would have to do a change of ownership first and then see if you can move the fibre to EE, not sure whether you would have to pay the rest of the BT contract though first, so definitely best to speak to them and see what they suggest. Just let them know you want to keep the landine when ordering the EE fibre.

@GarethWilliams : Regarding @Schockwave 's suggestion I would suggest that your Dad speak to BT CS in the 1st instance as his BB is with BT in his name. BT are encouraging & effecting their consumer BB users to migrate to EE retaining their existing contract term & without any early termination charges.

@GarethWilliams EE One should not be an issue, but does require an EE Broadband and highly unlikely you will be classed as a new customer for the broadband connection at all, you only can try savings to be made on mobile for sure but watch the speed clamp if that is important for your mobile as they have a few in the range. Unlimited everything monthly rolling contract and a clamp at starting 30Mb/s on the EE One.
If you have the choice just stick with the BT Smart Hub 2 and Complete wifi also, it works well on the FF500 connection with NO issues at all.
