Hello, I’ve switched from BT broadband to EE, I have received my new smart hub plus router today but was wondering if I need to use that as currently I’m using my own 3rd party router that I previously set up when I was 1st connected to BT broadband, as when I do a Speedtest the network name still shows up as BT and not EE. Was hoping I don’t disconnect from it in the next couple of days and be forced to reconnect with the smart hub plus then back to my 3rd party router. Also on a side note I have also swapped phones and got rid of my old one, I remember there being a message on there from EE in regards to reply to one of there messages when I received my router to, I am currently not able to do this as stated, that message was on my old phone. Is it worth ringing up EE saying I’m ready to go over to there service now? Many thanks

You may continue using your own router.

To partially answer your question, Speedtest results will always show as BT for the network name, as EE uses BT's network. As in my screenshot below:-
Note: network name shows as BT
