Switch providers

I am trying to switch my broadband contract from Ee as they can’t provide full fibre broadband with a phone. When the new provider tries to switch they get this message.
The customer's data held by their existing provider will not allow a successful switch request. The customer needs to contact their service provider to resolve the issue before placing another switch request. An order can be placed outside of the switching process but the customer may need to cease services directly with their existing provider.

I have contacted EE a long and tedious process and they claim that there is no reason for a switch not to go through and they have not been contacted by any provider. The new provider is also unable to retain my old landline number. If I cancel the contract directly with EE they cut off my landline and broadband immediately  which would not be ideal as my mobile reception is one bar if I am lucky

Any help gratefully received

Tatty

EE should be able to provide DV with their Full Fibre plans of up to 1 Gig; just not with the 1.6 Gig plan.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

It was not on offer and was told would not be available until July next year

Well I tried again over internet late last night using money expert site and the switch to Vodafone went through with no problems and I had further advantage of £90 voucher ! Not offered when on phone . There doesn’t seem to be a problem keeping my number either.  I think EE are in such chaos at the moment  and my ee ap was not working properly yesterday  that caused previous problems trying to switch. They have today sent me a text  acknowledging that I wanted to change supplier and had sent me an email with further info which never arrived and when I phoned to ask them to resend she said there was no email until cancellation day. I shall be glad to leave. Thank you for your help , knowing it should be possible made me willing to keep trying

@Tattyb  can you let us know how you get on.

Hopefully all will go well with you.

Alas I have no Openreavh Fibre near me, my contract is up next year and I want to keep a landline so always looking at options.

The full fibre is getting installed on 28th November I’ll let you know how
it goes.
