Hi,
I’ve recently moved house so cancelled my broadband. The new occupier has contacted Plusnet but been told that I need to contact EE to stop the 'cease on the line' so she can take it over? I am currently abroad so unable to do this, is there a way I can do this online/through the app?
thanks,
Sam

Once a "Cease" is put on a line you need to see it out.
To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone
ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

Ahh OK. Is a cease different to just cancelling my contract? She implied that I just needed to call EE which I can’t currently do. She is worried that an engineer will physically come out, remove the line and then another line will be put back in rather than her being able to use the current line. Is this the correct understanding?

Cancelling a contract results in a "Cease" being put on the line by OR. A "Cease" is a process carried out by OR in changing the state of BB lines; it is not an actual physical activity.

@Sam_8 the reason for the request ifrom the new occupier s the time each process takes. When you cancelled it means no other change could be put on the line for the notification period - 30 days in most cases.
However had you been around to stop the cease it would have meant the line could have been taken over sooner, but would have started your cancellation period again.
If the new people are keen enough to want an earlier service, they could ask for a new line to be installed, however there may be restriction on doing so, and could well cost them more.
