Sporadic slow internet browsing

Since transferring from BT fibre 900mb across to EE with the Wi-Fi 6 Smart Hub in April 2024 I've experienced sporadic/intermittent slow internet browsing and Microsoft O365 sharing/email searching/joining meetings etc.

I've had the same symptoms on two Windows 11 PCs, connected via ethernet direct to the hub and a Windows 10 laptop connected via Wi-Fi, in the same room as the hub.

The hub has been swapped out for another of the same model and I've swapped the cable from the fibre modem to the hub.

Speed tests constantly show 500mb so no issue with speed.

When browsing to a URL on Edge or Chrome 9 out of 10 (roughly) will access normally in under a second. Then one address will take 30-60 seconds, some times go to a DNS/web page took too long to reply page for a second then show the web site. If I browse the same address again it's instant.

I've tried changing DNS on the ipv4 properties of the network connection to use other free DNS servers.
Other than swapping the  Router for a none EE one I am out of options. Also if I do that I think I'll loose my BT ip phones that connect via WPS to the hub.
Any help would be amazing - thank you.

Morning @SteveABS

Thanks for coming back to the community.

I'm sorry you are experiencing sporadic slow internet since transferring to EE.

To get the connection looked into further, please get back in touch with our technical support team. The team can pick up the troubleshooting that has already been tried and let you know what the next steps will be.

Please keep us updated with how it goes 🙂

Leanne.

I contacted EE support and they said they'd reopen the complaint that was closed when they shipped out a replacement router and the guide would be in touch within 48 hrs. They haven't called back so I guess I'll need to call in again.

I bought a new router, ASUS one, and that works perfectly but... obviously I loose my VoIP landline and haven't managed to get the EE IPTV to work again despite trying a few online hints.

@SteveABS  Have provided further info in your other thread.

That is quite an old router with a much lower spec than the EE one, TV is an easy fix, but no option for EE Digital Voice.
